| This was one of the first games I heard about which was going to be released for a next-gen system. I was amazed by some of the screenshots and concept art. Then the first game play video was released a little later, I was amazed with the graphics the action and how smooth it went. Gears of war is a third-person action shooter which is based on the theme of teams and co-operation. The storyline is set in the future, where mankind is a corrupted race who continues to fight one another for greed of power. This however is ended by the emergence of the locusts, the alien antagonists. "And Mankind will be forced to take its last step...towards extinction" You control a gear commander called Marcus. The game play is very deep and it’s not a typical run-and-gun shooter. It involves relying heavily on cover to avoid getting killed in the open. It will require strategy. The unique thing about this feature, that anything can be used as cover, the trailer showed how the player shot down a rusting car frame from a wall and hiding behind it. The surroundings will be really interactive. But, this doesn’t mean that gears of war will be a slow game, in fact it involves just as much action as unreal tournament. The game will feature a unique "evade button" which acts as an action button, letting you maneuver easily. The weapons will range from pistols to shotguns assault rifles and grenades. The game also features an over the shoulder-zoom allowing you to aim and shoot over your shoulder while hiding. The graphics look stunning. It’s hard to believe that the next-gen systems will jump so far forward from the current-gens. The amount of detail in the characters and level design is immense. The enemies, the locust horde, will play a huge role in the game play. In the game, the locust hordes will dwell in the shadows, so staying by light is a must, however, you'll be easy to spot. The designs of the locust horde are brilliant, although I’ve only seen three different locusts. Having the experience from unreal tournament and its success, it is obvious that EPIC will offer huge multiplayer support. The game will feature co-op play, but they also hinted a competitive multiplayer mode, so we can expect awesome modes with huge live support. Basically this game rules!!!!!!!!!!! |
