| Reports online are indicating that Square-Enix's Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI will only be playable if you've got a hard drive. The MMORPG is already successful on the PS2 and PC, but Mircosoft fans were probably hoping for a console to play FFXI on that didn’t require something extra to purchase and install, and they were planning on getting the basic core system for only $299.99. Since the announcement of the basic and deluxe system packages, the company has been insistent that a hard drive won't be mandatory to enjoy next-generation titles on the 360, but that having one will enable enhanced gameplay experiences. | |||

| You will absolutely need a hard drive for this game. The game size is huuuuuggggeeee. Not to mention the almost bi-weekly updates you have to download to access areas, bugs and weapon additions. No way around this one guys. Also the pricing for this is yet to be mentioned as well. Are we to pay XBox Live, Final Fantasy, or both? Only time will tell. | |||
