A forum member claiming to be a New Jersey Best Buy employee posted on the official Xbox.com forums, spilling information he has received on the provosion of Xbox 360 Premium packs. Apparently, at the start of April, Premium packs will start shipping with 5x the HDD size of their predecessors. Cool for those who are about to buy a 360; very uncool for those who already picked theirs up.

i work at bestbuy, Store located in New Jersey. Our Microsoft rep contacted our store, and spoke to my supervisor and told him that if we receive any xbox 360 Premiums, to hold them and cannot sell them until the end of March, she stated that the reason for this was because the xbox 360 premiums would be shipped with 100 gigabyte HDDs, instead of the 20 GIG HDDs avalible now, she also said that the 100 gig HDD premiums would sell for the same price of $400. In bestbuys retail weekly i also read that in the beginning of April bestbuy is doing a promotion from April 2nd until April 15th, this promotion has to do with the media department only, they stated that we will have a huge inventory of xbox 360s. I know that bestbuys inventory and promotion news is 100% offical, but the 100 GIG HDD is not 100% offical, but seems very likely.

EDIT! Officially disproved.

To answer this rumor getting a lot of steam: during April, will Xbox 360 will come bundled with a 100 gig hard drive? No. Not true. False. Here's the official statement:

We haven’t announced any additional hard drives for the Xbox 360 beyond the 20GB version available today.

No plans to announce anything, either.

The Xbox 360 is modular, and of course there is the possibility that different hard drives will be available in the future. However, there are no current plans for such a device.

no its not $400 for the hard drive.. its $400 for the xbox360 including the 100gig hard drive.. if this is the case.. i hope microsoft do something for us people who have already own a 360.. like the time the xbox came out for £300 here and dropped to £200.. people got 2 free games and a controller or something..

oh i just got my xbox360 not to long ago it was the core system so i dont have a hardrive only a memory card and the only game i have is ghost recon advanced warfighter and i think its worth the $59

I work in an EB games. The microsoft representative came in not to long ago...and I asked her if there would be a hard drive between the standard 20gig and the upcoming 120 gig. She told me that there are no plans for this as of right now.
