| During his DICE session, Peter Moore gave away some interesting and inspiring information on Xbox 360 availability and the XBL Arcade. It looks like from April, Xbox 360 availability will have soared. Customers will stroll into local gaming stores, pick up a pretty white and green box, approach the clerk and say, "I'll take this, please." Quite a contrast to the hoarding masses that flocked to outlets when "leaked" shipment dates spilled onto the net. Buying an Xbox 360 can now be an enjoyable, stress-free experience. What makes us think this? Well, simply, these comments from Peter Moore: "Within the next four to six weeks, anybody will be able to walk into a store and buy an Xbox 360." He also touched on the three-territory launch of the 360, and even with the benefit of hindsight, could not really fault Microsoft's rollout. "Was it controversial? Yes. But it's what we needed to do to bring next-gen gaming to a global audience. There have been short-term shortages, but we're driving a clear advantage as we go forward. It was the right decision." He added, "There were component shortages, but they've been fixed. Now we're starting to cook. We're building a vibrant, rich and profitable business model for the future." Moore also revealed that a whopping 54% of Xbox 360 owners use Live, compared to a measley 10% with the original Xbox. He talked about the success of try-before-you-buy demos, presenting a 20% conversion rate from demo download to purchase. To date there have been 2 million Xbox Live Arcade downloads.
