Ever wanted to work with kids? Have an unfounded desire to help the needy/novice/newbie? If so, then you could make a perfect Xbox Ambassador.

It can be hard out there for a newbie. Whether you're new to Xbox Live®, or new to gaming itself, we know it can be a little intimidating the first time you match into a game. And getting your butt kicked right off the bat isn't the best introduction to our community.

So we've created the Xbox Ambassadors. These are community members who have been around the block and are willing to show the new guys around. We'll be posting a list of Xbox Ambassador gamertags before the Free Xbox Live Gold Weekend sponsored by Verizon … so check back!

Want to be an Xbox Ambassador?

Are you willing to clear some space on your friends list and play nice with the new kids? You don't have to speak a foreign language, know how to negotiate a trade agreement, or be at the top of the leaderboards. We're looking for Xbox Live members who are friendly, helpful, and patient.

If you'd like to represent the Xbox® community, drop us an email at xlmail@microsoft.com. Subject line should be "Xbox Ambassadors." Please include your gamertag. You must be an Xbox Live member in good standing (i.e. you've never been banned) to participate. Do a good job and there's a forum icon in it for you.

Well I said kids, but it's likely that most gamers needing a helping hand will be tech-wary parents. And what is your payment for becoming a tour guide to the uninitiated in the virtual world of Xbox Live? A special forum icon. You know you want it.
